“Be Inspired” Grant (BIG) Program

2024-2025 BIG Grant Application Submission Timeline:
Submissions Start: Sunday, September 1, 2024
Submissions End: Friday, November 1, 2024

What are BIGrants?

The Center Grove PTO has made PTO funds available for teachers and staff to apply to request the purchase of needed instruction-related activities and supplies that benefit Center Grove students.

Who can apply for these funds?
Any CG Staff member who is a current Center Grove PTO Member and has an idea that will enhance the educational experience of their students. Teachers may apply on an individual basis, or as a group of teachers.  Teachers of special subjects may also apply.

When can I apply?
You can apply anytime between September 1st through November 1st.  Applications will be reviewed and considered by the PTO Executive Board, unless the grant is time sensitive.

​How will my application be evaluated?

All applications will go through a blind evaluation process and will be reviewed by members of the CG PTO executive board.
The readers will evaluate the application using the following criteria:
  • Is the idea new to the class or grade?
  • Does the proposed project support the elementary curriculum?
  • What will be the impact on the students?
  • Does the professional development opportunity support CG building goals?
  • Is the budget clear and concise?

Note: Follow up questions may be asked, if the PTO Executive Board would like additional information.

What can these funds be used for?
  • New materials that enhance an existing curriculum.
  • Project materials that would be new to a class/grade.
  • Professional development that supports building or grade level goals.  (Requests for professional development must be accompanied by a letter or email of support from Principal Rodas.)

​Note: These funds cannot be used to purchase curriculum materials that should be purchased through the regular school budget process.

How do I apply?
The application for BIGrants can be found below. Be sure to include all costs (tax, shipping, cases (for iPads), cost for apps (must be specific-PTO cannot fund a gift card for apps), as well as where you are sourcing the cost from. This will greatly speed the process if/when the grant is approved.

IMPORTANT: Funds granted by the PTO must be utilized in the same academic year. Funds not dispersed by Dec 1st will not be available, unless special approval has been given by the PTO. You are encouraged to resubmit your proposal the following year.
 
Also, BE CREATIVE!!  If you have an expensive idea, don’t be shy!!
